Northern Ireland Real Weddings & Blog
You’ve seen plenty of standout shots from lots of different weddings - but what does a full wedding day actually look like through my lens? That’s where my real weddings blog comes in. Here, you’ll find loaded galleries from morning preps to the first dance, showing the complete story as it unfolded. It’s the perfect way to see how I capture not just the big moments, but all the genuine, in-between ones as well.
Occasionally, I’ll write about my engagement shoots as well. Not everyone chooses to go with an engagement shoot but I think they are great homework for the wedding day and helps build the excitement.
I’ve been photographing weddings for 15 years, and in that time, I’ve been asked everything - from the practical to the personal (and the downright hilarious). Here’s a collection of the most common questions I get, along with honest answers that’ll help you get a better sense of how I work. Whether you’re still deciding or you’ve already booked, I hope you find this helpful.
Have questions about me & my style?
-
I hope I am! I’m often booked up a year or two in advance, but sometimes a perfect date opens up. I always say: if we’re meant to work together, the timing will align.
-
Once you’ve checked your date and decided we’re a good fit, I’ll send over a booking proposal with everything laid out clearly. A signed agreement and a booking fee secures your date—simple!
-
Because I care deeply about people, connection, and the fleeting moments that make life meaningful. On your wedding day, there will be things you see and things you miss—and I want you to have both. I’m here to capture the big, the small, and the in-between with love and intention.
-
Perhaps the most important question of all. Choosing a wedding photographer is a personal thing—you want someone you can trust and feel at ease with.
-
I don’t just take photos—I tell stories. I specialise in weddings, and that focus matters. From the emotional to the unscripted, I know how to read a room, anticipate moments, and blend into the day so you can just be yourselves. There’s a world of difference between someone who photographs everything and someone who lives and breathes weddings.
-
Your most meaningful images will be beautifully displayed in your wedding album—still the best way to relive the story of your day. You’ll also receive a digital gallery and a USB (yes, a proper one that won’t fall apart in a month!). Cloud delivery is also an option if that works better for you.
-
I do both really well and I’m very comfortable with each. It all depends on what you want. My couples trust my experience to choose which works best on their wedding day.
-
Absolutely! Prior to my weddings, I’ll always find the homes of my couple, the church, venue and any photo locations. I’m not the type to wing it and always do my homework prior to the wedding. I think my couples love this about me. It also makes sure I can’t get lost trying to find your home on the wedding day.
-
I try to blend into the background and will look similar to one of your guests with a simple shirt, tie and waistcoat combo along with smart casual shoes.
-
With each of my weddings, I’ll sit down a month prior to create a bespoke wedding schedule. This keeps the day running smoothly and is one of my most liked services.
-
I use professional equipment and I have duplicates of everything. In the unlikely event of equipment failure, I have backups to ensure that I’ll never miss a thing.
-
During busy times: Up to one calendar month. During quieter times: Up to two weeks.
-
In 15 years as a full time professional wedding photographer, believe it or not, I haven’t been everywhere. Because couples see me recommended by venues I’ve been to before or they have seen images from a previous venue, they often get their date booked before a couple with a brand new venue. If I am available and I haven’t worked at your venue, I will do my homework prior to your wedding to ensure I know it very well.
-
Who is? I think most people aren’t comfortable at the beginning. It’s my job to make you comfortable. If you like and are comfortable with your wedding photographer, this will be reflected in your photography.
-
If you’ve made it this far, I love that you’re taking the time to get to know me and how I work. If you’ve still got questions or want to chat through your plans, I’d be more than happy to hear from you.
